they eat, they hang out, and they share bits of each other's world—or rather, elysium occasionally joins thorns in his, but that isn't the same as having something they can call theirs. given that, maybe a dog would be better? they could teach it tricks, take it on walks—…

when elysium stops talking, thorns finally peeks. this whole experience has been strange, and often filled with moments of wondering if maybe they rushed into dating considering the confession happened during questionable circumstances.

but then there's this, and thorns thinks that maybe they did it right after all. he snaps a screenshot on his phone and then feels like a giant weirdo after.

[ this would be grossly unfair if it weren't likely for elysium to get up first. instead of taking a picture, he kind of just…

watches thorns sleep? until he rolls over or makes a sound or wakes up and then he'll feel weird about it and scurry away in shame. but really, he just wants to enjoy the moment; he should be allowed this much… even if he once again has work he needs to do.
