he has jumped down onto a ledge that's further down below. and even further than that seems to be a large deposit of debris. it's difficult to get a visual of what the debris is from where elysium is, which is why thorns jumped down.

[ the main reason he didn't want to go here with elysium is because he didn't want docybara following him and getting freaked out at the smell of corpses, but as long as elysium has that handled it should be fine.

[ yes… he'll guide docybara out of this mess and straight into another, because of course he will. he stumbles on strangers encroaching on their camp; they don't seem to want a direct altercation, dispersing the moment elysium appears, but within seconds he's tying docybara to the campsite and giving chase. docybara isn't happy about this, likely protesting loud enough for thorns to hear—but this isn't about him.
[ docybara making noise isn't strange, but elysium not shushing him due to the current circumstances is.
the bad part though is that thorns hasn't climb all the way up to see what's going on... his corazonix gives him so many cheats but they do not give him another pair of eyes to see, unfortunately. and while he is good at climbing due to how much of it he had to do on his ship, someone running would have a much bigger head start... rip ]
[ they promised each other not to go off on their own anymore, but who's the one who broke that promise first? stupid. it doesn't matter that they were in a cold war!! they were supposed to suffer it together!! so now elysium is off on his own, hoping to put an end to this once and for all so they can go back to their full-time loveydovey life.

but docybara is so happy thorns has come back for him? it gives a soft, needy whine and fastens its teeth into his pant leg, trying to keep him from leaving again. why is everyone in this club so clingy. ]
thorns is just going to bribe docybara with food as a distraction technique before hurrying along... where is his bbbb.... they can never fight again. ]
but he will direct his attention back to their new friend. it is actually not that difficult to get him to talk as he seems to value his life over secrecy. but he does reveal that his group was paid to watch over this area and to attack anyone passing through. he doesn't have much information on the ones who hired them, other than they seem like they have a lot of funds as the pay was higher than typical mercenary work, and that they asked for them to cause as minimal damage to bodies as they can manage.
but he seems to not offer much else... he is definitely not the leader of the group. ]
well now that he's actively dying(?) he is no longer covering the stab wound to his gut. they really are never getting their wedding or beach honeymoon, at this rate. ]
