[ he continues to stare at docybara somewhat warily…

he isn't given a whole lot of time to assess the damage, though. within the next second, he's grabbing onto a fistful of thorns' shirt to slow his roll. ]

[ he did forget... but he also was counting the encounter earlier as goodbye despite not actually saying farewells during it. ]

the farewell goes about as well as they expected. the farmer exclaims how sudden it is and asks what happened for them to make the decision. the conversation could drag on for so much longer, and typically elysium would be fine entertaining it. but he has places to be! it's the iberian in them, he says, that makes it difficult to be in any one place for too long.

he has the conversation entirely in yanese which adds another layer to the farmer's confusion. too bad, it isn't about him.

when they're finally freed: ]

thorns scowls, before looking away. ]

one is definitely safer than the other, but he won't comment on that. it is difficult, because swordsmanship is something that is important to thorns; after all, the whole reason he even met juana and the others is because he was on a journey to master his skills. it does feel a bit like cutting an arm off.
