still, it's soft enough that he's immediately mollified by its presence. he rubs his cheek against it and sighs contentedly. as for his temperature, it's fine. a few points above normal, but after their terrible, no-good week (which, was it really that terrible considering how many long-avoided conversations they finally had?), the end of their recovery is finally in sight.
his stomach, however, is starting to rumble. guess who forgot to eat. thorns may have already noticed the untouched takeout container still sitting in the fridge along with whatever had been left of thorns' soup. ]
thorns' problem is that he doesn't want to wake elysium up if he's still sleeping, but he also doesn't want to heat the food up in case it takes him a while to get up... what is the point if it just goes cold again. so thorns continues to sit and scroll on his phone, messaging his professors.
he sees the dating app on his phone. he forgot elysium set the account up... thorns didn't even get to use it. ]
he stirs, half-asleep. assuming thorns is still there, he reaches out until his hands find bird instead. his arms curl loosely around it, pressing a drowsy kiss to its cheek before his brow furrows, eyes still shut. ]
[ thorns watches this happen, surprised over how attached elysium seems to be over this plush. thorns really screwed up by not winning it and giving it to him... a tale of star-crossed lovers.
