into elysium's room they go. thorns tucks him in again, and considers just leaving. but then he realizes that might not stop elysium just crawling out of bed again and they'll just have a repeat... so he slides into bed as well.
it's fine. he can just leave once elysium is in a deep enough sleep. ]

thorns will just check elysium's temperature again... if he feels warm he will get up, but it's only to get a washcloth to place over his forehead. he sits back down on the bed to watch him, which is a very non-gay activity to do. ]
[ the working story is that scien made him drink a bunch of his samples. he'd tested them all on himself, but his tolerance makes it a little difficult to record what the results might be on regular people?
elysium technically should be recording how he feels but that's something he can be yelled at for later or never. he is also conveniently busy with another very non-gay activity, and that is lightly grabbing onto thorns' sleeve when he returns. he can still easily shrug him off, but his expression does look slightly less tense when this happens… thorns' move… ]
he scoots closer, still giving them enough space that elysium will hopefully not freak out if he wakes up and sees this, but close enough that he can grab onto thorns more comfortably if needed.
[ sometime in the middle of the night, elysium tucks thorns under his blanket and curls against him like one might an oversized stuffed toy.
he is soooooo exhausted he can't even be the annoying roommate he is at the light of dawn. instead, his phone vibrates angrily once. twice. scien wants his report? that was the condition for his release, hello.
[ those were important samples??? scien would shake if he were the type to shake. but he just sends one last text before he goes silent… he is presumably on his way…
elysium is not any closer to waking up than he was half an hour ago. ]
because thorns just stays with him, the most movement he makes being to just check his temperature and to see if he is clammy or any other obvious signs of sick. ]
[ hmmm. this is why he shouldn't have escaped containment. scien seems to pause at this and sighs. he only comments that elysium was stupidly adamant on making it back to his apartment before proceeding to rattle out a series of various chemicals.
presumably, it's the medicine? antidote? who the hell knows. but it's up to thorns to formulate it if he even can—scien is gone the next second. wow. ]
he goes to his room and comes back to shove the bird plushie into elysium's arms, and then he leaves a note saying he'll be right back just in case elysium wakes up before hurrying out the door. ]
if there's one thing that gets him to stir, it's that. his brow furrows, and then he just… ends up curling around this thing, too. luckily, he is actually too debilitated to make any complaints or stir so thorns is free to live out his breaking bad dreams. ]
